Best practices Day 2009
Sidat Hyder Morshed Associates organized the annual corporate event of best in class companies, Best Practices Day which was held for the eighth time in November 2009. This one day conference has established itself as a noteworthy date on Pakistan’s corporate calendar. The event itself has grown over its history. In response to overwhelming demand the event has expanded its scale, from taking place in Karachi, it was also held in Lahore for the second consecutive year.
The significance of benchmarking best practices was highlighted at this forum, which is in essence a convention of individuals from all tiers of the corporate community. The theme was Survive, Sustain, Succeed. The event organizers based this on the fact that while Best Practices may be ‘optimal’ in good times, they become even more crucial when the going gets tough. The melt down may have adversely impacted Pakistan to a lesser degree on the economic front compared to some other countries but the current business climate even here is that of caution and care. Concerns for headcount and cost cutting have been on a high note for many organizations as we make effort to Survive and Sustain. Sharing Corporate Best Practices is an aid to ensuring the greater successes of corporate Pakistan.
Best Practices Day has stood out as a unique event by virtue of enabling participants to gain a deeper insight into how Best Practices can enhance the achievements of their own organization. It is hoped that Best Practices Day 2009 will carry on the tradition of promoting the value of learning through sharing, and consequently play a key role furthering the cause of Best Practices in Corporate Pakistan and leading the way for organizations to attain greater success in the future.
